Virtual Glanbia 300 raises €36,000 for Charity
Over the last six years, the Glanbia 300 annual cycle event has raised over €200,000 for Breast Cancer Ireland (BCI) and a number of other charities. In 2020 alone, with the global pandemic as a backdrop, colleagues and friends from across the GI community came together to run, walk or cycle a staggering 23,000km over four days raising €36,000 for charity along the way.
2020’s event was a little different to other years as participants took part in their local areas with family rather than with groups of colleagues as would normally happen! This did little to deter efforts or dampen spirits, much to the delight of this year’s chosen charities – Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team and Enable Ireland as well as Glanbia’s charity partner BCI.
Glanbia Ireland’s Chief Operations and Supply Chain Officer Jim O’ Neill and Cheese Grader Gerry Warren are pictured presenting the cheque to (l to r) Paula Rudkins of Enable Ireland, Ian Wilson of the Carlow Kilkenny Homecare Team, and Naoise Coogan who accepted on behalf of Breast Cancer Ireland.
