GI collects and processes a record 3bn litres of milk in 2020

Glanbia Ireland marked a significant milestone over the festive season as we celebrated collecting a record 3 billion litres of milk from over 4,800 family farms before processing it in our production facilities across Ireland in the 12 months since the beginning of 2020.

Reaching this milestone to the backdrop of Covid-19 and the challenges that it posed to our operations makes it all the more momentous for our farmers and in particular, for our employees across all parts of the business.

2020 was probably the most challenging year in our history but it has also been our busiest and processing a record volume of supplier milk is a testament to the ways in which teams across the organisation adapted to new ways of working and ensured that our supply chain remained strongly intact.

A big thank you to all of our employees for their collaborative efforts that allows us to be marking this achievement.

While the next phase in our strategy is likely to bring more modest milk volume growth, this milestone gives us many reasons to be optimistic as we look to continue our excellent service levels to our suppliers, customers and consumers into 2021 and beyond.
