Connect with your team ... virtually

JESS KELLY, RETAIL MARKETING MANAGER AT GI, OUTLINES THREE VIRTUAL ENGAGEMENT GAMES FOR YOUR TEAMS

TWO TRUTHS, ONE LIE

Two truths and a lie is a simple and fun game which can be played virtually with your team, in which someone shares three small ‘stories’ about themselves. Two are truths and one is a lie. The others in the group try to probe and interrogate the stories to get a bit more detail.

Once the interrogation is over, everyone must guess which story was the lie – the winner receives a prize from the storyteller. The storyteller must then nominate someone else from the team to think of their stories for the following week or your next virtual coffee break.

WHO’S THAT BABY?

Ever wondered what your colleague looked like as a baby? Think you could guess and match baby photos to your team mates? This is an easy and funny game to do with your team. Someone must take the lead in the team to chair the game. Send an email out to your team asking them to send across a baby photo of themselves. Pull the photos together onto a power point slide, numbering each of them. In the meeting, pull up the slide and let the laughs begin. Give the team five minutes to write down who they think each baby photo is. Once everyone is ready, go onto slide #2 where the ‘older’ version of the babies are!

WHO IS IT?

This activity is great for both new and old teams! Prior to the meeting, ask each player to send you a fact about themselves that the others don’t know about. During the meeting, read them aloud to the group so the responses are kept anonymous. Have the team guess which fact belongs to which team member! They can either cast votes and discover if they got them right at the end or vote as you go along, whichever you think is best for your team!
